Born and raised in Senegal, Valerie always had an entrepreneurial mind-set and a specific understanding of emerging countries. After starting her career in Investment Banking –she worked for one year in the Parisian headquarter of Societe Generale before being transferred to their New York office where she spent 4 years- she then enrolled INSEAD MBA program to take her career to the next level and explore entrepreneurial opportunities. After graduation, she launched three e-commerce ventures backed by Rocket Internet in Senegal (hellofood.sn), Ivory Coast (hellofood.ci) and the Middle East (Mizado.com). In 2013, she joined Google as an agency sales manager in Dubai. Few months ago, she took the step to leave her Google job to pursue a mission that’s closer to her heart: put Middle-Eastern and African art back on the map.
