Hanan Mohamed Almawla
Assistant Professor of IP Law - University of Bahrain"Dr. Hanan AlMawla is currently an Assistant Professor at University of Bahrain (UoB), lecturing in IP Law and Civil Law. She holds a BA from the University of Bahrain, a Master's degree in IP Law from Manchester University, and a PhD in Intellectual Property from Queen Mary University of London. Dr. AlMawla is also a Certified Associate in Python Programming (PCAP) since 2015. In October 2016, she was appointed as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Law, a peer reviewed specialized biannual journal published by UoB. Dr. AlMawla has published a few research and studies in specialized journals such as in the International Journal of Intellectual Property (IJIP) in July 2013, titled “Is the Function of an Author's Attribution Right Similar to that of a Trademark? Examination in the light of Bahraini Law.” In 2018, her paper titled “Parody in Copyright Laws of GCC States: Where does it fit?” was published in the Arab Law Quarterly 32, (2018). Her paper titled “Insurance Coverage for IPRs: Possible Solution for Businesses in the GCC” has been presented at the 1st American University in the Emirates International Research Conference (AUEIRC) in November 2017, and accepted for publication by Springer as part of conference proceedings. She is currently in the process of finalizing a research paper in Arabic, which analyzes the role of the Advisory Chamber in the Court of Cassation in Bahrain. "
