Dr. Nizar Becheikh is an Assistant Professor of Strategy and Innovation Management at the School of Business at the American University in Cairo. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration and an MBA in International Management from Laval University (Quebec, Canada). After completing his PhD, Dr. Becheikh joined the CHSRF/CIHR Chair on Knowledge Transfer and Innovation at Laval University as Associate full time researcher. Prior to joining AUC, Dr. Becheikh was Assistant professor and the Director of the Executive MBA program at Nile University. During his time in Canada, Dr. Becheikh worked closely, as part of research and consulting projects, with managers and policy makers from different Canadian SMEs, public organizations, and governmental agencies intended to foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and regional economic development in different regions in Canada. He published his work in international peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. Dr. Becheikh has coached many entrepreneurs during different phases of development of their business ideas. Some of them won prizes in business plan competitions like MedVentures and the MIT Arab business plan competitions. Others have already succeeded to fund their venture and launch their business. Dr. Becheikh contributed also as speaker to different workshops and seminars meant for promoting entrepreneurship in Egypt and the MENA Region. Dr. Becheikh teaches Strategy, Innovation Management, and Entrepreneurship at the undergraduate and the (Executive) MBA programs. His current research interests focus on strategic management and innovation strategies in manufacturing and service sectors; innovation, entrepreneurship and growth management in SMEs; and managing networks and virtual organizations.
